Is the New HP PageWide Ready to Revolutionize Printing?

At The Data House, we are committed to offering our clients the latest in print technology. And right now, that means the new HP PageWide suite of printers—recently released and set to revolutionize office printing.

What’s New with PageWide

Upon the release of their latest family of printers, HP claimed they are a “reinvention at the intersection of speed, quality, and cost.” So, what makes them so unique and how can they help your business?

The Printhead

The main element that distinguishes the PageWide from other printers, including other in the HP line, is the stationary printhead that spans the entire width of the page. With the stationary printhead, only the paper moves as it is printed, ensuring clean coverage of the whole sheet from 40,000 fixed ink nozzles. The name PageWide is certainly fitting.

With traditional inkjet printers, a motor transports a small printhead across the width of the paper, so that they the impression is created sequentially, from top to bottom. With the PageWide, there is no need for moving parts, resulting in higher quality, more reliable print and increased productivity.

What this Technology Promises

Reliability

Let’s be honest, what business does not want a more reliable printer? The PageWide promises to be more reliable—simplified motor assembly combined with fewer moving parts means there are fewer components to maintain and repair. With streamlined technology comes enhanced production, more reliable results, and less disruptive downtime.

Productivity

With traditional inkjet printers, print jobs are slowed down by the time needed for each page to move through the print cycle process. Since the page can only move at a rate that allows the printhead enough time to span the print area, even the best inkjet printers cannot compete with the faster print rates possible with the PageWide. Eliminating roadblocks means the newest HP offering can produce up to 75 pages a minute.

PageWide (http://www.thedatahouse.com/pagewide-family) was designed to address some of the most common setbacks associated with standard office printers, such as imperfect print quality and slow production times.
